I tried the wrap with Jack on my back a few times - needs a second person to get the baby in and out, but pretty comfortable.
We also have a MEC backpack carrier. We used it for Marah and are using it for Jack. It's awesome. It takes a bit of adjusting to get it just right, but it's comfortable and safe. And Jack and Marah both loved being up high.
