saddly i have thought this of the military for as long as i have had thoughts on the military. i remember crying as a child watching war movies. crying that people could so callously kill. war is not a good enough reason to take a life. politics are not good enough reasons for war. and all war is waged out of politics. i remember hearing the phrase "war is old me talking and young men dying" and thinking "my god how true..."
