You might find this manga interesting.

It's about a robot who runs a coffee shop in near future Japan. (I'm assuming it's near future since there are still recognizable technologies such as gas-burning vehicles.) It's a quiet, light sort of manga, although I'm only a third of the way through right now. It's a nice change of pace from the dark and gritty mangas I usually read.
