I am in my 4th week of subbing in a long-term English job. These are kids that are totally out of control - they have had subs for the better part of the year. No one has put their foot down and said enough is enough, 7th and 8th grader, low income, squirrley kids - yelling out the windows, throwing stuff. It is sort of like being the zoo keeper. unfortunately, that type of attitude in kids seems to almost be the norm instead of the exception. At least from what my dad has said, and from how that grade level acts at track meets.
It is a very sad state of affairs.

And from what my dad says, even if teachers try to instill some sort of discipline, more often than not, they get little to no support from the administration, which is a terrible thing.

That is exactly how it was. The principal was forced to take a desk job within the administration because he was worthless as a Principal,so he will be gone next year, The VP is going to Central so he won't be there next year so two newbies get to start over with the kids. I say uniforms, forced detentions, parental visits and better qualified teachers. They need a plan and they need it FAST. I see some of the kids now and then, but man my husband heard all about the kids. Some were little angels, but most were the devil's minions.
