4th of July Wishing
If I could teleport myself anywhere today I'd whiz over to Holland, Michigan and hang with all my cousins, aunts, and uncles. Sadly, teleportation does not exist so Martin's working and I'm writing, cleaning, and getting ready for our trip.

High School Reunions
I went to my first high school reunion last night. It turned out to be a lot of fun. I got to chat and dance with a couple people who I didn't know well in high school but it turns out we have things in common now. I also met a guy from my current adult dance class and I never even knew was in my same class at high school.

Bitterblue
Today I finished Bitterblue, by Kristin Cashore --the third novel in the YA Graceling-Fire series. Since the plot revolves around a country coming to terms with the damage of their previous leader's totalitarian rein, it's a more serious, slower moving story than the first two. This Week's Field Trip Has Been Postponed
No Friday field trip for me this week because I still need to finish my three chapters. I think I'm going to have to write on Saturday too. We'll see.

Goodbye Cool Weather! I'll Miss You.
I took advantage of the last day of low-humidity, low-eighties weather and biked to the Silver Spring co-op and the farm cart near it. Apparently our regular DC summer weather will be back tomorrow.

Bunheads
Has anyone else been watching Bunheads on ABC Family? It's written by the same woman who wrote Gilmore Girls and it's pretty much like a reboot of that show but in California instead of Connecticut.

Organized Transportation -- What a Concept!
I made train reservations for our trip today. I love that the Copenhagen airport has both a train station and a subway station. *Sigh* I wish we had things set up that well here.

Biked to the phone store with my son today. He's fast! I love that we can bike instead of driving. Nice weather today for DC, too -- not too humid.

Week 1 of My Summer Writing Schedule
I met my goal of writing 3 chapters of my Dr. Peakywich story this week and earned a field trip Friday. This week's field trips were practical types of exploration. I drove to the dump in the morning, then after lunch took Metro to Takoma Park and checked out their co-op. It's nice but not that much nicer than the Silver Spring co-op that I can ( Read more... )
