New computer

May 29, 2010 20:48

My absolutely awesome husband has built me a new computer. However, I didn't move over all my old bookmarks of awesome website I enjoy. This is tragic, to me.

Please link me your favorite websites, and maybe it will ease my pain.

You should read this comic: http://www.diggercomic.com/

...and watch this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-NKXNThJ610

(For what it's worth, I use http://delicious.com/ for all my bookmarks. There are plug-ins for every browser, so if I bookmark something on one computer, all my computers have it. I highly recommend it. Also, I can easily share my bookmarks with others, if I choose.)

This has caused me to reflect that I mostly have a pretty boring set of bookmarks. I like the Roger Ebert site:

http://rogerebert.suntimes.com/

And I like this web shop, the English-language online arm of a Japanese department store that stocks a lot of goth/punk/etc. clothes that are fun to browse:

Boingboing has a good assortment of interesting posts. Some are more relevant to my interests than others, but overall it's worth reading.

My favorite sites for food porn photos and about a 95% success rate in recipe deliciousness are 101 Cookbooks and Smitten Kitchen.

The Comics Curmudgeon is a way-more-amusing-than-it-sounds site poking fun at newspaper comics, particularly the simultaneously wacky and boring legacy strips like Mary Worth. Worth reading and also worth browsing the archives if you have spare time.

Argh, I fail the basic html exam. =/ You can figure it out, though.

The Comics Curmudgeon also does occasional posts about political cartoons at Wonkette (wonkette.com), which is an entertainingly silly blog about current events and stuff.
