1. What did you do in 2006 that you'd never done before?
tattoo, went to Russia, spoke Russian, went to bars

2. Did you keep your new years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year?I really don't remember what I wanted to do this year. And I did kind of make some for 2007 (in a previous post)

3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
no

4. Did anyone close to you die?
no

5. What countries did you visit?
Russia

6. What would you like to have in 2007 that you lacked in 2006?
more confidence, more motivation

7. What date from 2006 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
March 17th, St. Patty's day in St. Petersburg. They actually have Irish Pubs in Russia.

8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
Pulling off an A in Russian school, while maintaining an LDR.

9. What was your biggest failure?
Arrggh probably this semester. Grades weren't bad, but I know I could have done better.

10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
Well there's always running stuff, like when I fell on Thanksgiving, and then I screwed up my ankle playing soccer.

11. What was the best thing you bought?

I bought really cute galoshes from J.Crew with my birthday money, but I guess above those would be the trip to St. Petersburg, and Middlebury this Summer.

12. Whose behavior merited celebration?
-Well Seth of course, because he is always nice to me even when I am being stupid.
-several people who I never imagined I could be friends with
-all the girls in WC 19

13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?
huh, I am trying to think, and I can think of a couple of people, but I am not going to name names.

14. Where did most of your money go?
Tuition for St. Mary's and Middlebury, St. Petersburg trip (though thank God for money from wealthy grandparents)

15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
Russia
Middlebury this Summer (and my A =D)
This year's Christmas present from Seth
Specials on the history channel

16. What song will always remind you of 2006?

I know it's so wrong, but "Sexy Back"

17. Compared to this time last year, are you:
Happier or sadder? Lets see: happier about current situation, though chemical imbalances can make you unhappy for no reason
Older or wiser? Both?
Thinner or fatter? Thinner but not by much
Richer or poorer? Poorer, but not missing Res Life

18. What do you wish you'd done more of?
Reading good books, keeping up with current events

19. What do you wish you'd done less of?
Worrying

20. How will you be spending Christmas?
Already spent it at home

umm probably Seth's house

I was already in love, but thanks for asking.

I should hope none.

24. What was your favorite TV program?
Grey's

25. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year?
I am actually finding that some people I like more than I did this time last year, but I have never hated anyone.

26. What was the best book you read?
This year? Or ever. Ever: The Bluest Eye, This Year: Crime and Punishment, Me Talk Pretty One Day (David Sedaris is absolutely hilarious)

27. What was your greatest musical discovery?
Of all time U2
This year: My music choices haven't changed that much, but I guess The Fray and Postal Service are pretty cool.

28. What did you want and get?
-doing well at Midd
-swimming in a lake
-better times in my 5ks
-Darwin Fish tattoo
-Indian food
-lovin'

29. What did you want and not get?
-a Toyota Prius, but I never expected that to happen
-an awesome haircut
-more quality time with my best friends (you know without the boyfriends, sorry Bill and John)

30. What was your favorite film of this year?
huh Pursuit of Happyness wasn't half bad, but I really don't go to the movies like ever. I guess Everything is Illuminated, and Cheburashka (but both were in Russian)

31. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?
I was sick=C But the weekend before was Hallogreens. 22.

32. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
-Not taking History of Medicine and taking Barrett's Russian culture during World War II

33. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2006?
A mess. I either look really nice and get complements, or I look like a bum. There is no in between. And most of the time, I would say I looked bad, but at the same time I didn't really care.
34. What kept you sane?
Tessa, and like all of the wonderful people in level 1 Russian.

35. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?
ummm....???

Barack Obama or Matt Damon

36. What political issue stirred you the most?
Only almost every decision made by Bush.
Darfur

The Russian guy getting poisoned was pretty scary too.

37. Who did you miss?
Everyone at Russian school, and everyone at home while I was there.

38. Who was the best new person you met?
Everyone at Middlebury

39. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2006:
I spend way too much time worrying.

Такого Как Путин! (Just for the sheer amount of times I heard it this summer, literally means "someone like Putin") Well, I officially spent the rest of my Christmas money, kind of depressing.
