which h as the advantage that there can be people who will read the posts :)
the disadvantage is that it is fairly useless as a storage place for previous writing
and so I have kept up and do keep up my livejournal permanent account
in recent months a little more than in the previous years where I averaged maybe
one post a week here ( posts from facebook to be sure).
with dreamwidth I would imagine a problem of interaction, that people are not there
whom I know in any large number and the question of whether I could easily move
files from the one to the other.

There aren't many people left on either LJ or DW at this point, it's true. Most of my friends from the heyday of LJ left for other platforms years ago. Several of them did come to DW, so that's nice, but it's never been as active as LJ was 15-20 years ago.
I never did get a Facebook account. Just heard too many bad things about it. I do use Twitter, though, and Mastodon, which is basically the obscure indie version of Twitter. :D
