I took another trip in August, this time to visit my sister and attend my nephew’s wedding. It was pretty great. Me: "I thought Medicaid was covering that?"
Lacey: "Who told you that?"

The Saga of Specialty Medications
At the end of June, I had to switch health insurance providers because COBRA ran out on my existing insurance. I purchased new insurance for Lut, because ever since he got on Medicaid four years ago, I have feared he will require a treatment or a provider that won’t take Medicaid. (I am seriously questioning the wisdom of this choice.)

I did all right until I went to visit Terrycloth in the Seattle area, and then I spent a week pretty much ignoring all my fitness goals and eating large quantities of delicious food when I wasn’t hungry.

Books by Other People
I finished Spells, Snow and Sky by CoffeeQuills a few weeks ago. It’s a polyamorous paranormal romance novella, between a human woman, a yuki-onna (“snow woman”, a Japanese spirit), and a witch.

Not a great month for this category, due to Lut spending eight days in the hospital, across two separate stays. Hospital staycation is worst staycation. I ate more than usual this month, at least partly because of stress-eating. But I also ended up exercising more than usual, courtesy of my newfound resolve to exercise a little on ( Read more... ) -
Hospital Again Again
I was supposed to go to Seattle on Wednesday, June 9, but Lut was admitted to the hospital on June 6, after he grew increasingly confused over the course of the weekend.

Staying the course: exercise about every other day, eating about the same.
Lut finished radiation in May, and has switched to taking pills at home -- Revlimid and Ninlaro -- as of Monday, instead of getting treatment at the clinic. But because Revlimid and Ninlaro are hard on the patient’s immune system, we’re going to the clinic ( Read more... )
