1. if i offended you with my last entry, sorry. it's not that i don't care that she has lung cancer, but why is it front page news? my grandmother had parts of her lungs removed because of cancer and then developed emphazima. its not fun. it's sad and my heart goes out to whoever is affected. i just don't need her case in my face ( Read more... )

i wasn't so much offended ....... my friend is litterally dieing of cancer. It's an important topic in the news, because it's a horrible epidemic. We need to find a cure.

true that. it's hard to literally watch someone die of cancer...i've done it a few times and i wish never to do it again, although i have a feeling i won't be spared that. i'll see you in 14 days and until then, i'll keep your friend in my prayers.

I'm not offened by what you said. We live in a culture that has this incredible fascination with celebrity. Those who marry even B-listers and below thus are immediatley front page news. It's all part of what I call eating the shit that we as a nation have prepared for ourselves.

And as far as bloody cancer goes, I have ceased to care. I have had to watch family die from it almost as soon as I came out of the womb. The first one I think I remember was an uncle on my mother's side, and I was about two or three. My Gram went before Joyous was born, and the most recent was my uncle last year. My family has a history of breast cancer and I live near a nuclear power plant-so my death is pretty much certain. I have begun to think that cancer is just part of the natural progression of life. It is caused by everything, and cannot be stopped. I only hope when I get it I'll be at least over 50 so I can say I lived a full life and go peacefully.
