The Richmond Legacy: Christmas Chapter 2011
Author's Note: Hey, welcome to the Richmond legacy! So, this is a Christmas chapter, but it starts off as a regular chapter because, well, Seren's birthday sort of... snuck up on me. And actually, there are three birthdays this chapter xD But. Yes. There is some Christmas stuff in here as well, lol! So, happy holidays, whatever you celebrate! Let's get to the chapter :)

Alec: Yeah, well, it doesn't feel very Christmasy either. I'd recommend not trying this. It's really not very comfortable.

Alec: JONAH! HOW DARE YOU!
Jonah: Wh-what? Huh?

Seren: This is interesting.
Jonah: I really didn't though, Dad...
Alec: OH no... *pees pants*
Serendipity: Oh that is disgusting.
Jonah: Told ya you shouldn't have yelled at me.
Alec: Well... that was embarrassing. At least I wore a bathing suit?
Seren & Jonah: You're gross.
Alec: Well, since I am obviously a horrible role model, here, you're off the hook.
Serendipity: That was really entertaining, lol.
Jonah: Thanks Dad. You're still disgusting though.
Seren: YAAYY it's my birthday :D

So here's Serendipity as a teenager!! Omg... she is gorgeous!! <3 She is such a wonderful blend of her parents, but of course with her own crazy random genetics mixed in ;) So, I'm at my grandparents' so I don't have my notes, but her new trait is Rebellious :D Hence the outfit xD
Alec: OMG I'M ON FIRE OW!!
Sydney: That's why I picked a hobby that doesn't endanger my life.
Alec: Shut up :(
Alec: Well, I'm not on fire anymore, but I get the feeling I'm being... watched.

The first thing I sent Seren to do once she grew up was to make friends with Dusky. Adria doesn't have much time for the horse anymore since she's busy mastering all four instruments :P So Seren will be Dusky's new friend :D
Seren: I like you :D

Jude: I'm gonna beat you for the fifth time in a row, little bro. :D

Ruby has developed an unhealthy obsession with teaching Charlie tricks. (Charlie, by the way, appears to have switched back to a boy. I'm not sure why, but hey, works for me) Ruby has wished to teach him every single trick available. xD
Seren: Wow. This is totally lame.

It's Christmas eve morning! Yay! Yay! Yay! Yay!
Ruby: OKAY cut it out. I believe I got the message.

Ruby and Adria put on a show for the kids to keep everyone entertained while they waited for the big night.
Chance: Uh... yeah. They're... great.
Jude: They kind of suck.
Seren: They totally do.
Jonah: Aw come on guys! Don't be silly. They're great! Don't you agree??
Chance, Jude, & Seren: ....
Jonah: *sigh*
Adria: Thanks guys.
Ruby: Aw, they're just cranky because it's not snowing yet.
Jude: Yeah and it won't be for probably the rest of our lives. :(
Ruby: Hey, that doesn't mean we don't get Christmas!
Seren: Thanks for putting these lights in by the jumps! I mean, since I only ride at nighttime because daytime is too mainstream...
*sigh* no.. don't turn into a hipster on me xD
Ruby: Okay, Christmas eve dinner is all ready.
What, no fancy food made by Sydney?
Ruby: You kidding? She's already starting to cook tomorrow night's food! She doesn't have time for tonight too.
Mm, well, doesn't that stu surprise that came from who-knows-where just look amazing? O.O
Everyone: Yum! Food!
Well, I guess they're happy with it..
Adria: Hey, boys! The cookies are for dessert, not for the main course!
Alec: Aw, let them have a little fun, it's Christmas eve.
Chance, Jude, & Jonah: Yay!
Adria: Hey, Seren, do you want to come join us for dinner? There's cookies, and you can have one for dinner instead of dessert!
Chance: Yeah! We get cookies and that's it! No icky 'real food'!
Seren: Nah. Christmas is so lame. And Christmas eve is even lamer! I'd rather ride.
Alec: *sigh* I guess she's really a teenager.
Adria: Mmm, yup. :\
Jonah: More cookies for us!
Chance & Jude: Yay!
Chance: I don't know what Seren's talking about, I love Christmas!
Jude: Yeah, and I don't get why Mom and Dad were begging her to come sit with us. If she's gonna be lame, I don't want her around! Christmas is the best thing ever.
Chance: Especially because I get to have cookies!
Ruby: *refuses to sit down*
*sigh*
Ruby: I won't sit! Not while there are stupid paparazzis hanging around.
Alec: Aw come on, embrace it! It makes the food taste better to know you get to have it and they don't.
Adria: That's not very Christmasy of you, Mr. Scrooge.
Alec: Pish posh, Santa will give them food later.
Ruby: I'm not sure you actually know how Christmas works, Alec.
Alec: At least I know how chairs work!

Jonah: It's a signal to Santa. Since there's no real snow, Santa might forget that it's Christmas. I'm reminding him.

Sydney: Well, it's officially Christmas now! Seriously, they've been eating for hours. It's midnight now and officially Christmas!
Here too! :D 12:09, to be exact!
Sydney: Well, that means I can get cooking!
Wait, Ruby said you've been cooking all day.
Sydney: She did? Pfft, I've been sleeping all day! Everyone knows you can't start cooking for Christmas until it's officially Christmas day!
Then why didn't you eat dinner with them?
Sydney: Ew, and eat stu surprise from a buffet table? How do those buffet tables get stocked, anyway? From the weird depths of Ruby's pocket? Do you know what else Ruby keeps in her pocket? Weapons, dead bodies, dog treats, and cough drops, that's what. Do you think I want to eat the food that's been sitting around with that stuff for four days? Noooo sir.
So what did you do instead?
Sydney: I took a day off from work and ate at the restaurant.
Wait... seriously?
Sydney: Yep! Felt nice to be served instead of serving for once.
I bet it was awkward to be served by your employees.
Sydney: Eh, only a little!
Sydney: And since I didn't work my butt off at the restaurant tonight, I have plenty of energy and zest to put into creations for my own family to enjoy!
Sydney: I've picked up a few tricks since last Christmas, so this feast is gonna be even better!
I bet the rest of the family can't wait ^_^
For now, they're sleeping snug in their beds, dreaming of sugar plums... or, you know. Nuclear bombs.
Even the pets slept soundly that night... waiting for Santa ;)
Seren was the first one up on Christmas morning, and, uh...

Seren: Shut up! I'm having a mood swing and you do NOT wanna be this close to my face first thing on a morning like today!
... Lovely.
Seren: And now that stupid bird has gone and pooped all over his ENTIRE cage and left a shitload of feathers on my nice clean carpet and UGH!
Jack: *sleeps peacefully*
Seren: I hate Christmas.

Chance: It's Christmas??? YAY!!!

Seren: NO. How did Jack even get poop on that part of his cage? He never sits there! Gah! I am NOT getting dressed until I absolutely have to, by the way, so you can stop fantasizing about dressing me in a cute little Christmas outfit like my stupid brothers.

Seren: Well, good.
Ruby: Don't worry about my ridiculous granddaughter. Think about how cute I am in this sweater instead!

Adria: Well, hello there Mr. Claus! I didn't know you lived here.

Adria: Where did you get that silly costume??
Alec: I found it in the attic, actually! Fits a little loose around the arms, but it'll do.
Adria: Oh my gosh, I think Mom has told me about that suit! My grandpa Miles wore it on Christmas when he was about our age.
Adria: Look, I found a photo! Didn't he look dorky in it?
Alec: Hmm, that explains why the arms are so loose. He was ripped! And handsome. I see where your sexy genes come from ;)
Adria: Ew, are you complimenting my grandfather's physical appearance?
Alec: No! I'm complimenting yours ;)
Adria: Oh, well that's okay then ;)
Ruby: When you said "it's Christmas!" I thought you meant it would be fun! All I see is laundry, laundry, laundry.
Yes, well if I didn't have to tell you every 2 minutes to keep doing what I originally told you to do 3 hours ago, we'd be done with this by now!
Ruby: But I don't WANNA do laundry! *puts down laundry bag and stares at it for 20 minutes*
*clicks 'clean up all clothes on lot' for the 5th time*

Seren: Christmas is so lame. Can you say "Mainstream things suck"?
Jack: Mainstream things, especially stupid holidays, suck bigtime!
Seren: Awesome! My parrot talks! Can you say "my little brothers are obnoxious and overly excited about something dumb"?
Jack: Your little brothers have far too much enthusiasm for a holiday that has little significance because it has been so commercially inflated that no one remembers anything past the consumer aspect of the holiday anymore!
Seren: Sweet! This is epic! I guess I'm not mad at you for making the most disgusting mess in the history of the world anymore.
Chance: Is Seren being dumb again?
Yep, still sulking about Christmas. And teaching her bird to do it, too!
Chance: That's okay :) Despite the fact that my sister is lame and whiny and the trees are green and there's no snow, I still love Christmas! :D

I'm not organized to do a 'Christmas morning' thing, so we'll do it at night, lol.

I stepped up the decorations from last year's Christmas room... We even have a bunch of fake-snow machines xD

Seren: Well, we're all kind of wondering why there are menorahs and stuff in the Christmas room.
Well, I can tell you why ;D It's because even though I celebrate Christmas, I thought I'd include the limited supply of other holidays' decorations that I have in game. I bet there are some readers out there who celebrate things other than Christmas, and even though this post is ridiculously Christmas-themed, I thought I'd be a little inclusive, if I could xD So I'll say this now, guys -- happy holidays, whatever you celebrate! :3
Jude: Sis? Can you hurry up? I'm really hungry and you've been staring at the food for a long time. :(
Seren: No way, loser. I get seniority, which means I get to do whatever I want!
Alec: I love when my kids get along :)

Everyone sat down for a delicious meal prepared by Sydney.
Well, everyone did sit down to eat at some point. Just... not nearly all at the same time. -__-
I did manage to get them all to sit and stay sitting for a while though... have some pictures of that, and pretend they're eating together.
Ruby: Me and the cat on my sweater are satisfied with the meal. :D
Syd: Too bad we didn't all eat at the same time. Last year we got much closer to that goal...
Alec: I blame those rascally kids :(

Jonah: Dude, I told you not to bring matches to school! And I was 4 and a half at the time. If a four-year-old tells you it's a dumb idea, you should probably listen!
I hate the faces they make when they're nodding along to music, lol. But it was still kinda cute ;3
Ruby: Wait... I was alive last Christmas too! Doesn't that mean I'm too old?
It just means I have been more of a slacker this year with playing you guys :P I guess I blame it on trying to do 3 legacies at once, lol! It is kind of sad that in one year I got through six generations (roughly, since I got to around generation 2 by Christmas of 09, then to generation 8 by Christmas last year) in one year, and then only... one? Wow.. a little over one generation in the next year. xD
Ruby: I was adorable as a teenager last Christmas, though! Show em the picture, you know you want to ;)

The boys, of course, grew up looking amazing! Like I said earlier, I don't know the rest of their stats because I'm lazy and didn't bring my notebook. But, Jude grew up with the flirty trait ;D And I forgot to take the picture with his non-Christmas outfit, lol.
And my geeky little Chance grew up to get the Eco-Friendly trait, which I gave him because I thought it was adorable. I love this kid <3

The family sat around talking for hours, just enjoying each other's company and even getting a smile or two out of Seren.
Sydney and Ruby felt joy to be able to celebrate yet another Christmas with their wonderful family; Alec and Adria couldn't help but gaze with pride at their four beautiful children.
The kids laughed and teased each other, all secretly (or not secretly) thrilled to get to experience the excitement and joy of the holidays. Charlie, from his cozy pet bed, enjoyed center stage and barked along with the laughter in the room.
And finally, Adria roped everyone into a photo opp in front of the tree.
Adria: Now SMILE, everyone! You're having a great time, remember?!
Everybody: CHEESE!!
Seren: Why do we say "cheese," anyway? Why not "Serendipity is amazing!"?
