Thug means never having to say you're sorry

I watched all six seasons of Weeds last week. That was an interesting experience and I wish I'd stopped after season three (loved those first three seasons). I've never seen a show change so dramatically for the worse from one season to the next. It was like a completely different show (and not a very good one ( Read more... )

Yeah, Weeds became a very different (and not as good) show once they left Agrestic. BUT. I actually really liked this last season, as they seemed to get back to their roots as a family show. I'm glad it's ending, though. It's time. Same with Entourage, whose last season I also liked.

Did season 6 kick off in Nancy's hometown? I can't quite remember where 5 ended and 6 began, but I did like the stuff in that town. So yeah, season 6 was better than 5 (which I think was the worst season).

Did Entrourage end? I think I watched three seasons of Entourage before I got bored with that and gave it up. If I'd known it was in its final season, I probably would've watched again just to see how they ended it.

Season 6 kicked off right after Shane killed Pilar. It starts with the Botwins going on the run. So the whole season is them on the run.

Season 5 almost made me quit the show, yeah. Wait, Season 4 almost made me quit the show too. But I guess I'm glad I stuck with it.

Entourage hasn't ended yet. Like Weeds, the NEXT season will be the last.

Changes of direction... tackdriver56 January 22 2011, 03:03:18 UTC
It seems to happen pretty often in TV series. We're having a similar experience watching Heroes. It's like they fired the creative staff and brought in substitute writers unfamiliar with the 'verse.

I never watched heroes, but I've heard the tales (and then I was glad I never watched it). It's so weird when shows just go off in weird directions that seem so far removed from were they started. I can understand losing steam or trying something new, but when a show just up and turns a corner and heads in a completely different direction, it's a head scratcher.

The odd thing is that even though we groan when a character does something, well, *out-of-character*, we keep watching. We're hooked by this fictional social group, this fictional universe, even when it no longer explores "The Question".

So the first three seasons of Fringe are worth watching?

I am so glad to read this! I turned my back on the show at the S3 finale and never worked up the energy/courage to pick it up again. I believe I dodged a bullet.

If you watched the first three seasons, you truly saw all that was worth seeing.

Also hi :)
