You're the sweeeeeeetest, thank you! LOL, the quote is perfect--it HAS been a long, strange, epic journey! I'm glad you came along on it. It's truly the end of an era for me, as I wrapped it up just over a week before I move away from the state I've always lived in, into a different phase of life. I want to post about it the transition and the end of the fic and all the FEELS here on LJ, but I've been WRECKED by moving preparations. So, does something happen on AO3 if you're subscribed to a WIP and the author completes it? Do you get an e-mail notification saying it's complete? I must confess, I was expecting a little more fanfare in the process of marking it complete on AO3- I kept wondering if there was more to it. :-)

As for AO3, it is monumentally impersonal, lol! I didn't get a note saying the story was completed--I just got the notification that you posted and gasped when I saw the chapter count was complete. That's it, that was the whole ballgame! It should have been 🎉🎉🎈🎈🥰 !
