I haven't listened to the EVP yet, but perhaps you could covert the file to MP3 to cut down the download time? MP3s are, on average, about 10% of the size of a WAV file, with minimal quality loss.

Either way, good job man.

Thanks for that. I'm new to the sound bits and pieces on the computer, and just assumed that WAV would be quicker, seems as that is usually what you see on other sites. I'll get onto it.

No prob, dude. I'll admit, I didn't know much about EVP prior to reading your research; I'm reading a bit about it now, and it's fascinating. Probably not the most comfortable thing to do at one am, and I don't think I'll be game enough to download any samples until morning, but... fascinating nonetheless :P

If nothing else, you took some really beautifully balanced pictures. Brava! I can't say that the "voice" says "eleven", but it is definitely something unusual. Congratulations.
Does anyone else in your group have pictures from the "dust" area? It's always good to take note of anomalies when you take a picture, you can even cover things by taking two or three pictures a few seconds apart, that gives you something to compare it to. Something I discovered from this years overnight at the Evansville Library is that next year we will definitely have a few members take copious notes of what was happening, and the time etc. We also have several people taking pics at the same time, and we are taking more than one. That way we can rule out more things that turn out to be light reflections (not as easy to get in the daytime, as your investigation is). I was wondering, just the other day, how your research there is going. It's good to hear from you.
:)

Thanks for that. I was the only one with a camera in that section on that day, and low on film, but I will be definatly be going back to that ward as soon as I can, armed with several films, and hopefully a video camera.

One of the great things about film as opposed to digital is that it's REALLY hard for someone to tell you an orb is just dust *grin*. It's such a learning process, isn't it, new things that you'd think would be common sense. This year I thought of a TON of things we SHOULD have done on the overnight (Evansville Indiana, Willard Library). They'll be implemented next year.
Your icon is wonderful!! I'm still taken by that shot of the room which may have had padding on the walls. The yellow tone adds to the drama of the moment, and the thought of what might have gone on there.

i live in edmond oklahoma, but a few miles away in guthrie oklahoma is an old abandoned orphanage. i have been in it quite a few times and it is very creepy. someone bought that orphanage and started to rentivate it, they put a new roof on it and word was they were going to make a house of it. they did'nt get any farther than the roof, i truely believe that it has something to do with the story behind the orphanage, that some of the children there were murdered by the nuns, and hung in the basement next to the kitchen. i have seen this place and it is very well likely that this is true there are hooks hanging from the ceiling in a room begining as a tunnel just off the back wall of the kitchen. weird huh?

Ward 9. On the glass on the door on the left. What is the white stuff on the window? Is it a reflection?

I added you to my friends list a few days ago but didn't have time to leave you a message until now. My mother works at our local psychiatric hospital ever since I was a very young girl and I always remember seeing things that couldn’t be explained. It is more of a complex with many different buildings, much like the one you are investigating. The oldest buildings have been closed off since before I was born and under the heaviest security, but lights would turn on, strange glows from inside (both which one could only see outside from the windows since like I said, no one was allowed inside) strange noises from the "tunnels" and many stories about a ghostly woman in another building that is still open today (I remember seeing her wave at me from the dock on that building while we were driving by one night) Unfortunately the oldest buildings have been torn down, but a few are still there including the one with the woman and one that I saw a mans face in the window when I was picking my mom up from work with my brother when I was little ( ... )

Thanks for that. There really does seem to be something "different" about the old mental hospitals. Maybe its because some of the patients did't really understand the concept of life and death while they were alive that they are still there. I'm not too sure, but it is fansinting all the same.

Thanks for your story - I don't think it was babbling at all :)

there is also an old abandoned hospital in guthrie oklahoma, it is very scary and i have only been in it once, but it is like who ever worked or lived as patients just up and disapeered one day.it is left horred conditions and i can't begin to describe the feeling of un-comfortable you feel just coming close to it from the drive. some say that there was an access tunnel under ground fron the orphanage to the hospital but i was not able to find it.
