[Tiana is currently hanging out in the store, rummaging through clothing. She is wearing a full-out ballgown (you can see it portrayed in her icon), although her tiara and necklace are set neatly aside. She clears her throat, looking at the open journal.]Excuse me? I hate to bother y'all, but it looks like the only clothes they've left that are ( Read more... )

[Since everything is already relatively explained, Stella will be shopping here, too. She's always looking for new clothes, not just for her, but for her whole family. So, she has a dress over her arm, a nice button-up shirt for Senel, a cute little outfit for Sophie...

And she glances over and sees Tiana in that gown. It looks... really, really nice. Stella can't help but inquire curiously as she heads over.]

Pardon me... Did you find that here?

Oh! Well, yes- but it was mine before I got here. Well, actually it was Lotte's, I can't imagine what the kidnappers thought I could do with it here. It's not at all practical, is it?

No, I wouldn't think so. [She looks it over - It's still so charming despite it being so out of place!] The kidnappers haven't been known to be very accommodating... But it's still a very pretty dress.

My mother made it for her. She's probably the best seamstress in New Orleans- at least Mr. La Bouff keeps telling us that. Never had talent with a needle myself.

It is very nice, but I don't want to take up space if y'all are expecting more company.

Besides, I think it's time I start taking care of myself here and not imposin' on you fine people in the Welcome Center. I'll stop by now and then once I get myself settled, though!

[...Dat accent.

But no, aside from that, he's curious and a helpful older guy. Thing is, by this point she's probably gotten a heads up from a couple to a half dozen people, so once some of those are gone through] A costume party?

That's right. Lotte held it just a little while ago, for Mardi Gras.

It was a costume ball for Mardi Gras that my friend held. I was there to serve the refreshments, really.

It's a big celebration you have just before Lent. There's parades, parties, all sorts of celebrating goin' on. Don't they have Mardi Gras here?

You're welcome to stay at the center as long as you need, but finding a place to stay is easy enough. Any unclaimed apartment is there for the taking, same with the clothes. You don't have to get permission for any of that. I did bring some winter clothes to the center, so feel free to help yourself.

Well, thank you! It was very nice of you to bring us warm clothes.

Given that the Malnosso aren't considerate enough to gift new arrivals with them, someone ought to do it!

It's awful sweet of you to take on that job for yourself, then.
