Jim Rice should have gotten in a long time ago but it is obvious some writers wanted to punish him.

Actually, all the local writers he probably annoyed seem to have voted for him, so that didn't really hurt him. I think his last 3 years, which were not good, are what hurt him and made him borderline. But I recall him during his peak and he WAS the most feared hitter for enough years in MLB that he makes it.
