This is probably a silly plea that will fall on deaf ears, but I'm trying to decide which mac I should get and if I should do any of the upgrades or if the standard options should be enough. Any opinions or thoughts would be appreciated except for "buy a PC" or "screw macs ( Read more... )

If you go for the 17" model, of course you're going to have to choose black. Other than that, there isn't much need to upgrade. The performance upgrade from 2.5 to 2.6 probably wouldn't be that noticeable for most programs. (my computer has a Core 2 Duo 2.13gHz chip btw) Also 2gb of ram should be fine, you can always upgrade that later too.(I only have 2gb right now). More ram will help out a lot in memory intensive programs like PS tho ( ... )

That's..... considerably helpful especially considering I had no idea a bigger harddrive will have slower access times. Makes sense, I just never thought of it. Now I have some thinking to do...

And... if you want that song you're gonna have to tell me who you are :P

Generally size differences at the same rpm won't give you that much of a time difference, its mainly rpm speeds that cause it.

Oh man I really want a 10k rpm drive. Did you know they also have 15k rpm drives? o.0
