Alky-hall

So I've found over the years that I enjoy the taste of alcohol less and less. Red wine? Forget about it. White wine? Eh, ok, altho I do like to hoosier it up with some ice cubes. Other than that, I've just steered clear except for the occasional vodka or gin & tonic ( Read more... )

Maybe you could make a champagne punch, with some fruit juice and bubbly, and toss in a few strawberries to make it extra-festive?

Great idea...you know, I just said to Mike, "How about Mimosas?" He was all "that's for brunch." WhatEVER!

Hmmm...I don't have a "drinky-poo" icon. Better use ice cream instead.

Toss a couple berries in, that makes everything more festive! And practically any juice is good with champagne. Poinsettias = champagne and cranberry; Bellinis = champagne and peach nectar.

Why You Em. Spells YUM. I'm makin' a list...

A recipe I found online lists equal parts champagne, soda, rum and brandy for a champagne cocktail. Sounds like it would kick mah butt across the room. On the plus side, we have all the ingredients except the champagne.

White Russians ARE good, but really, I can only drink one or two, they are so RICH. I think P8's notion of Champagne Cocktail is a winner...a recipe I found online lists ingredients of equal parts champagne, soda, rum and brandy. Sounds like it will pack quite the kick!

I'm a fan of Asti, which is a sweet Italian "champagne".

That might be a good one to pick up for the champagne punch P8 suggested. I think it's a little cheaper than the French stuff too!

And delicious! (Love you in that icon)

Cava is tasty too - that's the Spanish version - again, often cheaper just b/c it's not Officially Champagne.

Arbor Mist. They're like drinking candy.

Arbor Mist is the brand name of an alcoholic beverage which blends seasonal wines such as merlot, zinfandel and chardonnay with fruit flavorings. Their slogan is "Great Tasting Wine with a Splash of Fruit," describing the beverage. Arbor Mist has a lower alcohol content than most wines, and is usually more economy priced than other similar alcoholic beverages.

Hmmm...sounds a little Boone's Farmy...which isn't necessarily bad. Eh, since we have everything we need for champagne cocktails except the champagne (and Mike's headed out to the store now) I think we'll go with that this time. I'll keep this in mind tho - thanks!
