I got a MacBook and now I'm trying to figure out how to record audio. There's a bad buzz. -Anyone have experience with this? What do you use to edit audio? I was using soundforge on pc. I had a powerbook a few years ago. The internal mic was great...

If it's a Macbook Pro or a newer Macbook it may be the dual core CPU buzzing at you. maybe this info will help: http://www.macosxhints.com/article.php?story=20070822151058648

Trying to record audio coming out of your speakers? I use Audio Hijack Pro to record and Audacity to edit.

i guess i'm going to have to give in to audacity soon but GOSH. i don't wanna!! i need to do lots of "microedits" in single track. -mostly radio news reports. i really like soundforge and am disappointed that there's nothing as good for mac. you feel me? what type of audio are you working with and to what end? ... i haven't followed up on this for a while but i'm going to have to come back to it soon. i decided it was too big a pain in the ass to work out until i have time to play. -using soundforge on the pcs at work for now.

I used to record audio of people speaking for job-related purposes, but I don't have any reason to do it anymore. (Different job now.) I'm not sure what you mean by "microedits," but I wasn't using Audacity for much, just removing gaps in the dialogue, background static, etc. So I'm definitely not an expert when it comes to audio editing.
