I think the Minato is really OOC. His character never seemed weak willed to me or easily manipulated, but this is how he appears in the game. I know you can take a lot of paths with Minato. Even so, he always seemed to have a strong resolve considering how the game ended up. I don't believe at all that he'd do some of the things he has in Discedo.
I'm sorry you feel that way. I have a thread in the HMD and my screen name is openly available.
Admittedly yes, he has been very down lately, and has for a while. It's not a character slip that I made accidentally and never noticed, it's something that I've done based upon all the loss he's suffered one after the other, but he was/is coming out of it. On top of these feelings, he gets very serious when it comes to doing his work, so he lacks emotion. As for being passive, well, while he does get involved in many things, he does come off as passive. Stoic or docile are other ways to describe him, but if you know the character, as I'm sure you both do, you know that his exterior means nothing. However, if I give that impression, I must be portraying this incorrectly. I'll keep it in mind
( ... )
Go. Stop wanking here and go give them some good honest critique if you feel they need it. You're saying things that make sense (I guess? I don't know the series) but jeez, put them somewhere where they might be taken seriously instead of the wankfest.

Key words here are 'you can take a lot of paths with Minato.' I've never seen two Minatos alike in LJ games. You would have a point with the weak willed aspect if it made any practical sense. It doesn't. The actual crises that character has faced in Discedo (battles, matters of leadership, etc) have been done with the courage expected in that character. I'm not sure what 'things' he 'wouldn't do,' but I'm not seeing them.
If you mean his depression or Discedo related problems, it would be far more OOC for a character NOT to react to those in some way. It's not remotely in character for Minato (or most of the others) to ignore friends vanishing, dying, plagues and mental pain by acting unaffected. The few who do are the ones I see as OOC.

Where were all of these remarks THEN? Why don't you post them THERE? Here, I'll even link you:
