So here is the screening I took about Depression, I also took one for Bipolar and that one was a high risk factor as well.

Your screening results are highly consistent with the symptoms of clinical depression. However, this screening is not a substitute for a complete evaluation. In order to determine a specific diagnosis and appropriate ( Read more... )

So, I am confused. Is the screening you took something required by your job? If not, who did the screening?

As to your worries, have you displayed any recent behavior that should constitute to being properly worried? Depression is such a broad spectrum that needs to be more finely combed rather just assuming you are going to hurt yourself.

As you may or may not know personally, I have a lot of experience with depression; both of my own and those that others possess. And there are so many different levels. Don't be frightened if you fall under this, because being frightened of your own depression only adds validation for it to control you more. You need to control it, and so long as you are going out of your way to learn more about it, that is part of controlling it rather than having it run your life.

I took it online on their site. It wasn't something my work wanted, trust me if this was a work forced assessment then I would be in trouble because that is a grounds for loosing ones job (only when work forced) No I have been thinking a lot more often than not on bad stuff. I am having a hard time just talking about it right now. Ive been kinda out of it all day today near tears and just so much more.

Don't worry too much about it. A lot of people you know suffer pretty severe clinical depression, including myself. I've got one of the worst neurological cocktails out there (several lovely and very frustrating disorders) making me a ticking time bomb ( ... )

Wow the process sounds fun. And well I work for the state mental facility, I see these kind of people all the time. I am not erratic like they are, but there have been times I have been close, I have attempted suicide once in the past, I just- bah. Its getting to the point where I think I may need help, like some sort of perscription. I am not looking forwards to being a zombie, I am not looking forwards to the trial-and-error process that so many go through but I am looking forwards to not wanting to do bad things to myself all the time.

Yea. The real trick is to stay with it through all the frustration until you hit on something that works. Unfortunately, modern psychiatry amounts to little more than trial and error and a bit of witch-doctory, but it's the best we have.

Once you've gotten through the process you'll think it was worth it. Just be careful, some anti-depressants kill sex drive, and we wouldn't want that! :)
