...just wow. This is a completely unnecessary and unwanted revision to the browser. Most of my thoughts were written down on the fly in a chat... so I'll just paste those into here

All that hot air and you didn't even so much as _mention_ Panorama? To say nothing of the performance and standards improvements. The status bar is pixels that you don't need to be used. Double clicking to open new tabs worked in the betas... And what's this about a "ribbon"? That wasn't in the betas. Are we using the same Firefox? Or...oh, I see, you're probably using some stupid Windows or something, aren't you? The addons browser is a huge improvement, I can't even begin to understand what your problem is there.
I won't say you're "wrong" outright, but there are flaws with your assertions. You should realise that it's not just "change for the sake of change". Last time browser makers allowed themselves to stagnate, we had SEVEN YEARS OF IE6.
Bottom line: If you really hate it so much, use something else; you have options.
Yeah, it seems 90% of my issues were related specifically to Firefox under Windows, and the same problems and UI changes didn't happen on Mac or Linux. Biggest problem with the removal of the status bar is that I have my weather forecast there via Forecastfox or whatever it's being called these days, and so had to put the "add-on" bar back anyway, and then mousing over every link showing a popup at the bottom of the screen was really distracting. Text appearing in the status bar isn't nearly as distracting.
What is this Panorama of which you speak?
As to options, you have the memory leaks and constant crashing of IE, or the total lack of control of Chrome or Safari. I suppose I could actually try Opera one of these days...
Lolz, double clicking the tab bar works under XP on my laptop, but not under 7 on my desktop. I don't get it.
Also, the 4chan and skipscreen thing aren't really Mozilla's problem, those aren't their add ons, you have the add on developers to blame for that, though I am sure they will prolly push through an update soon.
