I was thinking of Jowan at times, but for some reason I kept going back to two characters in my head for you after reading their descriptions: Anders and SigrunSigrun is described as being a very determined person, and she also perhaps is a bit introspective as well (she wants to prove herself TO herself most of all, she has an interest in books and learning due to having been denied them when growing up, and she even makes some interesting comments on perspective and how she wished other people had more of it). She's loyal to the people she cares about or has sworn loyalty too (as can be seen if the Warden completes her companionship quest and tells Sigrun they consider her a friend), and can sometimes seem contradictory in her actions or mannerisms. She can be self-critical at times. Tends to be a bit more outgoing if she enjoys the company of others, and can be considered unconventional in her viewpoints or ideas. I could picture her agreeing with your thoughts on joining the Grey Wardens in a way, and I could see her perhaps

This was quite tough, but I think my mind stuck on Nathaniel and refused to move. Anyway, although you don't seem nearly as bitter as he started off being, I can imagine a good few of the same traits working for you - introspective and reserved, cynical and loyal to those they consider friends. Nathaniel cares a lot about his family, and I think you can see the loyalty factor there.
He's also fairly stoic, but you can sort of see his delight when presented with one of the plot items or being told something that means a lot to him; at least I remember he definitely appeared pleased in my playthrough when presented with something like his grandfather's bow. "Overly stubborn and secretive" actually also fits him for quite a while, when he refuses to believe what you tell him about his father - and he's a rogue, so secretive fits. Kinda. And he cares about duty and would put it first, I think - he's certainly a lot more serious than quite a few of your party members, but he's not someone I imagine would eschew fun. (I considered Justice

I know virtually nothing about Dragon Age, as I've never played any of the series, so I had to use the character description page.
There were two characters that came to mind when I read your application: Sigrun and Sten. However, once I hit your "Are you more... Traditional or Unconventional" answer, I knew which fit your personality better.
Needless to say, my vote is for Sigrun. The sentence that states she "wants to prove herself" reminds me of a couple things you said. First, you're more critical of yourself than others. Second, your issues with your insecurities when you're not good at something. Sigrun's desire to prove herself fits well with both bits of information. Another example might include your ability to be outspoken or your sense of humor. Sigrun's paragraph mentions that she's blunt, yet often good-humored. Lastly, Sigrun has a penchant for books. It's not a stretch to say that your interest in reading could certainly entail books.
I want to go with Sigrun. The two of you share an interest in reading, as well as acquiring more knowledge than you "should" have. Fight the power. She can be blunt, but she's rarely mean-spirited about it. She does have a sense of humor, but it's more likely to make an appearance when she's around friends. She's loyal to those she trusts and cares for, and doesn't give up on her personal happiness despite the obstacles in her way.
Your app was tough for me, but after reading over the character summaries a few times I'm going with Bhelen. (I haven't played the game yet, so sorry if that is totally off!) You demonstrate in your app (especially with how you'd deal with an ally that used you to gain power) that you're happy to do things if the ultimate outcome is good. You can see the big picture and are willing to make tough decisions to achieve positive results.
