I'm going to go with my first instinct, which was the Torn Soldier, although I considered the Tough One and the Silent Hero as well. However, the overall sense I get off your application is someone with experience and good sense who can take the lead if necessary, and you're not entirely closed off, either. You're definitely one of the more private archetypes, but you can still talk to and communicate well enough with your party members. "Cynical" is definitely one of the traits I associate with the Torn Soldier as well, as is that sense of straightforwardness, fortitude and practicality that your app screams to me. There's also a kind of honourable air to your application - you don't like the road mankind is heading down, but you'll do your best to stop it because "there's no excuse to leave everyone for dead"; that one made me think of the Valiant One, a little, but you're not nearly idealistic enough to classify as that, and IMHO the Torn Soldier retains that kind of nobility while combining it with a great deal more common sense ( ... )

I'm kind of torn between The Tough One, The Silent Hero, and The Torn Soldier...but I think I'm leaning slightly more towards The Torn Soldier as well. *Not* because I think you sound "torn" or anything like that (you honestly don't!), but because I could really picture you as a cautious leader like many of the characters that fall into Torn Solider type are (such as Cecil from FFIV, Lady Chris from Suikoden III, Arc from Arc The Lad, etc.). The Torn Soldier characters are analytical/logical and really not the best at deciphering their own emotions, but they're pretty observant when it comes to other peoples' emotions...and tend to view friendship as a very serious matter too. Your Positive/Negative Traits fit The Torn Soldier well and they're also described as reserved; calm; cautious (but your mention of I'll admit that I trust my instincts a great deal and I do like to follow them, though *really* fits The Torn Soldier perfectly!); stoic; peaceful for the most part but aggressive when they want something; and vengeful ( ( ... )

I am not 100% sure of myself voting but since i can't see the other types working that well i am going with The Torn Soldier, you suit in the stereotype like the hero Cecil from FFIV(Or Kain if you would prefer it), you definitly have the right personality as well for the positive and negative traits that suit it just to a T

As unoriginal as it is by now, I began thinking of The Torn Soldier from the start as well. They're all natural leaders, and while they're often given positions of leadership without asking for it, they seem to enjoy it to an extent and never complain. (Unlike, say, The Anti-Heroes and Tough Ones, which are far more reluctant about leadership, especially the former.) They're more cautious and logical than many of the other main character types, but they're not machines and do tend to trust their instincts. Some do tend to be a bit blunt (such as Magnus from Ogre Battle 64), and your "peaceful or aggressive" response fits them perfectly. I'd explain more, but the voters above have already covered it very well and I'll just continue to sound like a broken record.

I'm voting you as The Torn Soldier as well. They may choose solitude, but always seem to do well when placed in a leadership role. And even though being a leader wasn't their first choice, they're fairly content if they are placed in that position. You seem like you're pretty calm and levelheaded, but you're willing to fight for what's right if the situation calls for it.
