Seriously, the house has me enchanted. Houses in Godalming are so stereotypically British that when I first went there, I thought I was in an amusement park or large historical site. People just keep houses around forever, fit them up, and keep working on them even if they're old as dirt. In the midwest, a house that's 100 years old is worth a ton of money. Here, it's just a common occurrence, though supposedly there is one house several blocks down that has a history dating back to the 18th century and is still a residential house. Boggles my mind.
I did see into the loft, and some of the supports of the house are made of old tree branches that have never been shaved off. xD
