I was heading out when I noticed Lorne. I was holding my head and cursing the visions so I wasn't all that ready for conversation, but he needed good people to keep him from brooding too much.
I was examining a painting on the wall outside of someone's office which I had found rather intriguing. It was an abstract piece, and deciphering it was more along the lines of trying to figure out one of those Magic Eye paintings you see in the mall. A voice to my left broke my concentration, and I uncrossed my eyes and looked over.
"Angelina. Hi, Pumpkin." Bugger with the petnames. Oh well, force of habit. "Yes, it's Lorne." I told her. I pulled my hands out of my pockets and crossed my arms infront of my chest. I perked an eyebrow as I noticed she was rubbing her temple. She wasn't looking too hot.
"Er, you feeling ok?" I asked her. "You look like....." The realization washed over me. "... like you just had a vision. Cordelia used to look the same way after she got one.."
I rubbed at my brow with my thumb and forefinger, and slid my hands into my pockets. I gave her a meek smile. I seemed better? In what sense? I certainly didn't feel any better, not with all the drinking and brooding and feeling sorry for myself.
Maybe she just meant I looked better. Seeing as I actually bothered to comb my hair this morning, iron my pants, and heaven forbid - shave.
I stopped thinking about myself for a minute, and tilted my head to the side and looked at her. Her aura was clouded with sadness, and I could tell she was deeply troubled, most likely because of Julie. I examined her for a moment, and decided it might be a good idea to lower the hypothetical protective barrier I put around myself for the time being. The hardness in my piercing red eyes softened, and I swallowed my pride.
I reached my arms out towards her to offer her a hug. "Would you like to go for a walk?" I asked her. "Maybe give me a tour of this place? If there's anything you want to talk about, I'll listen."
I giggled when he asked are we there yet. I finally pulled up in front of the park and parked in the small lot off to the side. Getting the bags as I get out of the car.
Luckily the park is fairly deserted tonight. Looking to Lorne he looks thankful as well. Once we have everything in hand I turn to him and let him know where we are going.
I start to walk to the small secluded gazebo with a picnic table and such in the middle. I get all the food set up and start to dish the food up.
"A bit peckish," I replied, digging into the glorious meal brought to us compliments of the Orient. It was an understatement of course, because I was absolutely famished.
"Ever seen a demon pig out before?" I asked her, smirking wryly. Suddenly my expression changed. "Ang," I asked her, "Am I the first demon you've ever met?" I had to ask. I was curious.
I smile as he begins to pig out. I was thinking about other things so, in a time I would have normally giggled I didn't.
"No, you arent..but you are the first one that hasn't tried to kill me...well aside from Angel and Spike"
I said looking away as I start to eat.
"I..I watched the man I loved slaughtered by one..he then slaughtered my family as my little sister listened while hiding in her closet on the phone with 911."
I just let it all out...why did I ruin this with my issues?
I idly poked my noodles with my chopsticks and looked down. Damn, no matter what I seemed to say, I wasn't helping any. But this was obviously the source of hurt that I seemed to tap into earlier. I pursed my lips in thought. I looked up at her
( ... )
I was glad to know I had someone I could count on, someone who would listen to me without bias. I needed someone in my life like that, because there really hadn't been anyone... since Fred.
"You might be listened out after awhile," I joked. "After I start training with Spike. There'll be a whole lotta whining going on."
I smirked to myself and looked over at her, my expression not changing. "Thank you," I told her. "For everything."
I couldn't believe how attached I was growing to him. He made me feel safe when Leo wasn't around. I was worried he hated me before, now I know he didn't.
"Hey, worry not, I like to whine after just spending time with Spike. If he ever works your last nerve I can help train you...hey I am much prettier than he is."
I giggle a bit
"And I have been trained quite well by Robert"
I said softly
"Is it ok that I lean on you sometimes..cause..ok and be prepared to run away screaming. You are like a giant teddy bear...I havent felt safe since I got here aside from with Leo.."

"Yeah...they left to fight..I..well I just want to curl up and cry right now."
I looked at him and smiled a bit through the pain. I liked what he called me...it was odd but it made me feel good.
"How are you feeling? You seem better somewhat"

"I am not upset with you at all. I am just glad you spent today with me."
I said softly leaning against him. Something about him made me feel so comfortable. He was like a big green teddy bear.
"Thank you for just talking to me. Always know I am here to listen."

"Not a problem at all, Pumpkin." I smiled. "But only 'cause it's you. If you were like, Gunn, I'd have to decline." I chuckled.
