I have to admit, I'm a little torn about this.

As a chemE undergrad, he was really tough on us - and a bit pompous IMHO. But now that in my professional life I see his name attached to a ridiculous number of chemE journals and books that I refer to regularly, I have gained the distance needed to respect him as a prolific contributor to my field. Also, regardless of how tough he was on us, he was a part of my undergrad chemE experience and I'm sad to see another piece of it disappear.

Re: his role in organizing the vote of no confidence against SAJ: I can't help but respect that.

Respectful guy, but will probably get a one sentence mention from the administration unfortunately, simply because of the no confidence vote. Sounded like a great person.
