The CDC seems pretty helpful, especially when it comes to careers for majors offered at RPI. I haven't worked with them directly, but just putting your resume up and getting the newsletters and emails of offers helps to get an idea and if you see something you like, getting a resume in early and fast helps. They're pretty good with resume help as well. Professors seem to be helpful when it comes to companies and opportunities as well...they somestimes have the contacts that help get the foot in the door. Really looking at past career fair pamphlets also help...they at least break down the majors and companies associated. If you want to see an old one, I have them at school. Looking at things like monster.com and such can also be interesting...it at least gives a sense of the market.
