How was Rouge? Would you recommend the trilogy?

I would say the trilogy is worth seeing in its entirety. The idea is supposed to be that each film revolves around one of the French nationalist values of 'egalite, fraternite, liberte', but I didn't really notice that in any of them.

(The director mentioned in an interview that it was given that form because then they could get French funding grants - if he had got money from another country, the supposed 'theme' would be different...) In any case, they were refreshingly intelligent, more mature fare than the usual Hollywood crap.
