Identifying Meanings in Poems

I understand your lack of love for poetry. It's hard for me to understand it as well. I think it's because I can't stay focused long enough to catch on to the underlying meaning. Plus, the grammar used is different than that of which we use today. So, it's a little confusing. It's like another language.

I enjoy poetry because of all the rhymes but I get what you mean when you say you can't always understand them.

I'm with you, I really have not enjoyed reading poetry in the past as it has been difficult to understand or seems so "out there" that I don't enjoy reading it. Hopefully, I will learn some new skills during this section of the class.

yeah, I have never been someone who enjoys poems. They are really hard to understand and some are really pointless.
