So I'm sitting here reading Paul Pope's blog for the first time (never really considered his work for any significant period before this) and I find myself making a realization about myself.
I suck at communication.

Seriously. I'm sitting here absorbing the language this guy utilizes... it's all so very... cosmopolitan.

My creative writing teacher would tear me to shreds for stuff like that. She's a very minimalistic person and would mark all that as being "purple prose" and expect a lot of re-writing.

Which really gets at me, since I myself am a rather wordy person. Sometimes I agree with her, that things can be condensed, that making analogies is fun sometimes, but saying "It was hot" instead of some great poetic device is sometimes just as good.

Though as we move into writing poetry, I think I'll start disliking the class more, hehe.
