Here I was just wishing for a rslhilson fix, and you show up with this gorgeous story. As always, your dialog is pitch perfect and your descriptions glorious. There's so many great lines, I'd have to paste the whole fic into my comment box.

This one is unforgettable:
Sure, they’ll suck each other until they see stars and fuck each other until they see God, but that’s all it’ll ever be.

D'aww! *blushes* Thanks very much for your wonderfully kind review - I'm so glad you enjoyed it! I'd also like to inform you that it's been way too long since that great pirate AU you wrote for Sick!Wilson Fest... :)

Oh my, now I'm blushing. :-)

Earlier, I forgot to say how much I loved the way the story circled around and overlapped. You did an incredible job making that work.

And thanks! I was afraid that the circling/overlapping would just confuse people, so it's great to hear that it worked for you!

You ... made me totally believe Wilson/Cuddy. And I kind of didn't think that could be done.

Wilson's loneliness, here, cuts to the bone. I love how you did this, waiting until we see how it ends before we see how it began, and what Wilson's been suffering until this point in time -- taking as much as he thinks he can get, because it's so much better (and so much worse) than nothing. And House, always, believing he won't be enough.

I'm still on the fence about Wuddy as a realistic pairing myself, but I thought it'd be fun to play around with it and I'm so glad the fic worked for you! Thanks so much for your thoughtful review :)

I loved this so much I had to read it again immediately. The staggered timelines really added to the feel of the fic, and the dialogue was perfect. Brava!

I was worried that the staggered timeline would be confusing, so I'm relieved you liked the structure. Flattered that you went back to re-read the fic, as well - thank you!

You have such lovely turns of phrase. Ring-around-the-bullshit made me grin, because it's both so House, and so Wilson to think it.

Wilson/Cuddy is far more believable to me than House/Cuddy, and the reasons you give Wilson for trying it ring very true. I found the scenario you wrote for "Wilson's Heart" particularly poignant, and I could easily see it happening.

You really do capture the way House and Wilson manage to work at counter-purposes sometimes -- each so worried about losing the other that they make really obvious mistakes. It's one of the most endearing things about the two of them!

Interesting! I haven't found a lot of people who feel that way and it's always nice to get different viewpoints.

Heh, I love that about them too, and I'm so glad that came through for you. Thanks for your thoughtful review!

I'm one of those fans who, try though I might, could never see the supposed sexual chemistry between House and Cuddy. (Whereas to me the UST between House and Wilson is sometimes so bright you'd think it should white out the screen.)

The more of it they tried to force into the H/C relationship, the more false it rang to me. I was sick of it by the end of S6, and I skipped S7 altogether.

It's not that Wilson and Cuddy did have more UST in canon, it's just that I could have far more easily believed that pairing than the one TPTB did give us. And, realistically, they could have ended S7 in exactly the same way, had they chosen to do so, with Jealous!House slamming the car into the home of the woman who's stealing Wilson from him; Cuddy leaving because she realizes she and Wilson will never have a chance as long as House is alive, no matter where they go; Wilson being pissed at House, etc.

(/end thread hijack)

That is actually a really brilliant idea (and would make for a really awesome fic!).

I'm one of those people who couldn't tear themselves away from Season 7 but hated it with a passion. If there was any real Huddy chemistry, TPTB butchered it beyond recognition.

And lol, I'm all for hijacked threads! Good fandom discussion is where it's at ;)

Well, I'm still not convinced about Wuddy, but you make it as realistic in my mind as it can be, lol! Lovely fic, Dear, just lovely. I can so see the misunderstanding between Wilson and House over what the very open relationship meant. House, of course, doubting his own value in Wilson's eyes, thus giving Wilson room to get all that he needs which House can't provide with someone else because he loves him; and Wilson misunderstanding, thinking House doesn't want the deeper relationship but being willing to take whatever he can get because he loves House. If these two ever got on the same page (in canon , that is) we wouldn't need it to be 2012 to fear the world ending;^) *MEMS*

Haha, I'm still not sure how I feel about Wuddy myself, but very glad to hear that the fic worked for you!
