New technology is expensive? Dropping things makes them break? No wonder Apple has had such trouble selling its iPods!

What really got me about the dropping part is that it's actually unlikely to be true. When you drop an iPod the part that breaks is the hard drive. If you drop a nano what breaks? Probably nothing. Because it uses flash memory. Seeing as the iPhone uses flash too, it'll probably be as tough as any other smartphone.

Yeah--especially since the screen is a touchscreen. Those things are designed to be constantly struck, by design.

End-users can fuck up anything on the market, of course--especially the kind of end-user who buys expensive 1st-gen hardware.
