At my job before last, my boss wanted to switch everything over to a new provider, so I had to switch the registration from NS. It wasn't really that hard, I just had to type up a letter and fax it over to NS allowing them to open the registration so that our new provider could take over the domain and manage it for us.

I've been very happy with Dotster for nearly a decade now.

All of my sites are hosted through DrakNet so I typically use thel http://draknetdomains.com/indexdotster.html page (right-most choice). I'd imagine that you could, however, just go to http://www.dotster.com/ and find stuff.

As for the ease of use, I love it. I can manage any one (or more than one) domains at any time with no muss and no fuss. Given that I've moved three times during the time I've been playing with multiple domains, the ability to change data on ALL at once has been splendiforous.

I've also had occassion to move domains both in and out of my account - all done with the greatest of ease.

Cost? Umm... $14.95/year... more if you sign up for additional available features (assuming they're not already included with your hosting package.
