Two years ago...

Two years ago this past Thursday, we got the call from the adoption agency, telling us there was a little boy in an orphanage in Samara we might want to know about.

A week and a half later we were on a plane to Moscow.

And now we've been parents for almost two years.

It's going fast!

Yeah, but I'm feeling every little bit of it as it happens. I'm more alive than I've been since I don't know when. Even on the difficult days (and you've been there, no matter how good a kid is, there are always difficult days), I'd still rather jump off a bridge than go back to the way things were pre-Ilya. This is what I really wanted to be doing with my life, at a far deeper level than I realized.

These have been two of the best years of my life.
