Ilya lost his first tooth today

And he's very proud of it, showing off his gap-toothed smile.

The tooth has been loose since December, and we were starting to wonder just how long a tooth could be loose without coming out.  So we're breathing a sigh of relief.

Not many of us left here. I try to post as often here as on the Facebook. (Work people know I'm there, but not here.)

Cool with the tooth! Our older boy (16 now) took forever to get his teeth, then forever to lose them. He had some wiggly teeth just hang on (much like Ilya, only not as long) until I couldn't take it anymore. We had to pull a couple that he wasn't interested in losing, and the hygienist "pulled" on at the dentist by waving an extractor at it. He just didn't want his teeth to go away.

Kids are weird.

Ilya has been wanting to lose that tooth in the worst way, but it just wouldn't let go. Finally he wiggled it out yesterday.

And yeah, kids are weird. But fun. I'm definitely not taking mine back to see if I can get a refund. :-)

Yep, the kid got two one-dollar coins and a Kennedy half. I expect he already knows that Mommy and Daddy are the tooth fairy, but he's smart enough to play along with the game when it's paying off for him.

Re FB - there were and are a pile of reasons I just can't stand it. I still can't stand the look of it, and its overconnectedness strikes me as creepy. I've got an account there, but I can't bring myself to actually use it.
