I had recently took a course of a completely strange language to me, having no connections to other languages that I knew, and I saw that learning the grammar actually could help you understand the language and its usage. The course had lessons totally devoted to the gramamr, with wordlists simply given below the lessons. And the course was very effective!

Конечно. It was the Quenya course by H. K. Fauskanger. An artificial language (not invented by the author of the course), but still...
