Tracking forum commentary should be easier

How many times do I visit message boards after I post a message, eagerly awaiting replies? Uncountably many! Forums and blogs should have an RSS feed for each user that is updated when people reply to their posts. Why doesn't popular forum software support this? It feels like a webapp that lets users input their usernames at various community ( Read more... )

that's true. on the other hand, before the widespread adoption of RSS, a lot of forums had a 'subscribe' feature that allowed you to get an email whenever someone replied. many still do

I just realized that both phpBB and topcoder have features that will email you when people reply to your posts. I have a small preference for RSS over email, but this is 99% of what I want.
