I just got out of the worst BAFFA rehearsal I've had ever. I haven't felt this angry in a long time, & half of what has me so angry is things that have been happening over the last couple of weeks

Aaaah! That makes me want to scream! A few things is okay to deal with but when it keeps happening and...you know, people think that trained musicians have ego problems, but untrained singers (since it's difficult to be an untrained instrumentalist) can even more easily develop ego problems (since the trained vocalists go through years of being made humble by their own teachers and their training (sheesh training is humbling, I know that for sure!)).
Next time she tries to touch you, remove her hand from yourself and very firmly say "do not touch me". That really gets the point across (I've had to do that before) and makes her aware of what she's doing.
If that doesn't work, just whack her in the head when she's not looking. Bwahahahahhaa!

Yes, training can be extremely humbling. Before I went to college, I'd gotten every solo, got into every elite group... I thought i was God. Then I went to Fredonia, auditioned for one of the choral ensembles and got rejected. I didn't take that very well. But, it made me work even harder, and I got in the next year :-D

Next time a random person tries to tell you what to do say, I'm sorry what is your name? Oh my name is Stephanie, Nice to meet you. How again do you think it I should sing MY solo? ... Be real sacastic. This lady sounds more than annoying. Start correcting her when she says something to you. "Yes, I'm on top of that and did you notice that this(point to her mistake) is really like this...." With a great big smile on your face. How frustrating. Ugh Mel
