But yes, making things out of yarn is occasionally a useful release.
...Crocheting is good for me. Occupies my hands, but less complicated. (Knitting baffles me -- I think I need someone to show me how instead of attempting to work it out from written instructions.)
Well, after you've gone through all of the books in the Hub, Mia grouses about wasting ammo and Tosh has vetoed most of the stuff in Archives, knitting is, at least, not an entirely stultifying passtime.
Well, for all the growly snarkiness, there is an abundance of weird knitting projects to occupy oneself with. Gun cozies!Internal organs! Fetish gear! (There is, in fact, a book on knitting fetish gear and burlesque costumes and the like. The mind boggles.)
Did you ever have Torchwood Movie Night, I wonder? It does wonders for morale. But then, it helps if you have someone pop-culture-aware enough to take a distinct interest in fixing gaps in people's pop culture knowledge. An eye for the ironic helps. (Men in Black, anyone?)
Uh.. Sion tried, once. Didn't really take. Mostly the subordinates anyway, and all the comfortable chairs in the Hub are in places with horrible acoustics. A lot more basketball, over here.
Of course, basketball is more problematic when half of your team is in Manchester.
Shame. It's one of those things that didn't go over as well as it really should have over here (mostly because there's so rarely time, though it seems that isn't your problem at the moment), but sometimes half the fun of working for a secret organisation that catches aliens is mocking really horrible science fiction.
Time, availability, it's always one or the other. They seem to figure things out in TW4, though. (They manage game nights. I'd ask how they do it, but they're not a front-line organization.)

Or so I hear. Though my accounts might be biased.
