Linux'd!

So my primary hard drive exploded or something and the rest of my computer is going to shit. Fun! Had to re-install Ubuntu after my re-installed Windows XP blew up in my face. Now running a completely Linux system, and probably failing pretty hard. Command line? What's that? Also, the shell this uses, GNOME I think it is, has the "OK" and " ( Read more... )

Well, hopefully I won't be stuck with this for too long - working on getting a new computer. This one still has lots of problems - I still get random disk boot errors when starting up and programs exit randomly (although that could be a software problem).

The question is, for my new computer, XP or Vista? I hear people saying Vista is shit and people saying Vista is awesomeness. Which is it? I'm no computer whizgeek, which probably factors in there somewhere.

Vista is simply too broken and unreliable right now. Get XP and you're set - Vista needs a couple years to fully mature before I would recommend it to anyone.
