Well I got my "Bush Bucks" as everyones calling this economic rebate stimulus thing. I was hearing alot of the guys at work saying they were getting like $500 so my hopes were up a bit that mebbe I would get that much ( Read more... )

Sounds like you guys got your actual tax refunds, not the stimulus check. Mine was $600. I originally thought it would only be $300, but it turns out that you only start getting a reduction in that amount if you make in the neighborhood of $50K. My tax refund was about $300, and initially I DID think it was that --- until the second check, for $600, arrived.

It's also worth noting that the "Bush Bucks" apparently ONLY come in $600 or $300 amounts. You don't get $605, or $322. Alden, your roomie got a tax refund, not a stimulus check.

Also also, as someone with "00" as the last two numbers of my Social, I was one of the first to get an actual stimulus check...just about a week ago. So if you got something before that, check again. You might have more money on the way.
