postcards from the edgecast: meryl streep, shirley maclaine, dennis quaid, gene hackman
what imdb says: Substance-addicted Hollywood actress Suzanne Vale is on the skids. After a spell at a detox centre her film company insists as a condition of continuing to employ her that she live with her mother
- I say it all the time; let Meryl be funny and you have yourself a movie. Couple this with source materials from Carrie Fisher and add some Shirley MacLaine and you really have a movie. It's easily in my top ten favorite Meryl movies.
- Not only is she funny, and makes out with Dennis Quaid (the most DILFy of DILFs), she also sings. And does a hell of a job. I want the recording of "You Don't Know Me" from the movie. She's a genius, I swear.
- You also get drugged up Meryl. Which is sort of hilarious. When the doctor tells her she needs her stomach pumped she asks "Do I have to be there?" Heeheee.
- Dennis Quaid, sort of a dick in this movie. Meryl fixes it by being a badass though. So that's nice :)
- I'm nearly half-way though her filmography at this point! A lot of early 80's left, and if we're being honest the late 80's too. Plus 2007 aka the year Meryl pumped out more movies than God. So hopefully I'll be done soon!
coming soon: star wars (IV-VI), burn after reading, miss pettigrew lives for a day, michael clayton, the answer man, revolutionary road, choke.
