Cuddy was lying on her bed watching some fluffy romantic comedy on the tv. That was to say, the movie was on and her eyes were aimed in the direction of the screen, but she wasn't really paying attention. Every time she stopped moving for more than five minutes, her mind went right back to the previous night. And the morning. And...everything ( ... )

What he planned to say to her, House had no idea and the moment the door opened House felt tongue tied. Cuddy didn't seem to take much notice of him with the way she merely walked off to fetch his pill, and House was both relieved about that and agitated at the same time. Was she ignoring what had happened between them? House instantly felt paranoid that Cuddy was ignoring and therefore didn't care about what happened and it bothered him that he cared about that. This was getting ridiculous: at every turn there was a new confusing thought that contradicted the last ( ... )

Cuddy's fingers lingered a moment longer on House's jaw. Being this close to him, touching him, brought on a rush of images, remembered sights, sounds, smells, none of which had lost their intensity in the intervening hours. She let her hand drop and took a step back, trying to focus on what House was saying, not the memory of his face when he came ( ... )

Was it completely stupid of him to feel unexpected disappointment at Cuddy taking her hand away from his face? House certainly thought so. What the hell was wrong with him? That Cuddy had lingered with her touch didn't go unnoticed, either, and House wondered what the hell that was about, too ( ... )
