Yes, it's a familiar feeling. I'm stuck in Cincinnati, most of my friends are back home in Europe, most of my friends in Cincinnati are married and their schedule (at least today) revolves around their family, and whenever I feel like one of my single friends is becoming a special friend, something happens that brings me back to reality.

For single people (not just unmarried, but really single), especially without local family, holidays can be torture. Even worse when you don't have many friends about, either. Oh well, the 4th is almost over, at least...
