I think a certain element of Kosovo will always be lost on secular America... It's not only an integral part of Serbian national identity, but spiritual as well. In reading the Prologue, I think a subtle theme St. Nikolai presses is that one must always be kind to one's neighbors, even if they are Muslim. But one should never forget what that religion is about or its less than holy origins from the evil one. Thirteen eighty-nine did not produce one or even a dozen martyrs... it produced them by the thousands.
