eeew- good luck with the credit card thing. i was in the same boat- i didn't have any credit, and hadn't worked at the same place or lived in the same apartment long enough to have references. i got a tiny bank of america credit card about a year ago, and a really tiny REI visa. after 6 months the first card doubled my limit, but i'm still getting declined for cards with rewards and stuff. it takes a while. i've heard store credit cards are the easiest to get though.

even Walmart wouldn't give me a credit card. how sad is that!!??

I finally got my credit report in... there's basically nothing on it except my parents credit card (which my name is also on)... and that has FABULOUS ratings. although, I did notice something... the credit report showed my parents old address (Long St)... I've been using my last College Station apartment as the "previous" address on the credit card forms... so I wonder if it'd be different if I used the Beaumont address. *shrugs*

I managed to get a "secured" credit card through my bank... basically they hold $500 in my savings account... and I get a credit card with a $500 limit. suits me just fine... in a few months, I should be able to get a better credit limit and NOT have the hold in my savings account. it's been a weird adventure.
