flying in on Jan 1st for 3 weeks, flying into Nairobi, with plans to spend time on Lamu island and on safari in the Rift Valley :)

oh honey! have you not heard yet that i have finally decided to leave kenya after a carjacking attempt, being robbed, the crime and generally shitty situation of the country? i'm giving up my house in nairobi the end of december and moving to denmark.

please tell me you are not going to kenya alone and that you're going on safari with a very good and well known safari company. january in the rift will be hot as fuck. that's how we used to have to drive the supply trucks from nairobi out to the camp and that is some seriously hot and uncomfortable weather on the floor of the rift.

lamu is very touristy. you'll be tired of it after a day. go to watamu/malindi. it's my favourite place on the kenyan coast.

hey luv, I'm going on safari with a friend who lives their whose boyfriend is a guide - didn't fancy takin my chances with a company - too hit n miss! we're actually gonna be on an island off Lamu, not Lamu itself...can't remember what it's called, but I'll be with people who live in Kenya who know the do. worry not :)

I'm going with my new boy and best friend Danger Mouse so I wont be alone...sad I'll miss you though :( I'd love to pick yr brain about where to stay/eat in Nairobi though...xxx
