fufufu that's actually the part that I called 'a bit irrational' since I cant think of something rational to answer that question XD (actually I asked myself that question the second i finished writing the fic lol)

in my head, i think of something like this --> the army forbid the soldiers to get their letters but they didnt tell the soldiers nor their family (lmao, i failed this actually, since i shouldve explained it before)
