There are a lot of new people showing up these days! Hi new people! If I haven't already said hello to you, I'm Nova! I hope you're all settling in all right.

Does anyone around here know how to make armor? I'd like... maybe a chest plate and some [pentap] I think they're called pauldrons? If not, I'll go look around in the scrap yard ( Read more... )

~stoneface, armed and cutely dangerous, ~paladin, equipping, ~target, ~cara, little soldier, burnination, hi hi hi hey hi!

If you find something in the Scrapyard, I bet someone on Stuff Inc could fix it up for you. Although I should probably learn how to repair armor, too.

I think there's a plant called aloe that's supposed to be good for burns, but I know a little bit of healing magic too if you want me to try that. What happened?

I was trying to practice some of my fire magic.

Outside, of course! On one of the islands, not near anything flammable! Except... myself.

Well I guess it's just part of learning things again. It was really impressive in the memory...

But yes, like Paladin says, aloe lotion does work! Even if it's just singes you should take care of it and I can heal you up when you get home.

How bad are the burns?

Not bad! Or else I couldn't write very well. I'd have gone to the clinic if they were serious. They just sting a bit, but it's nothing too bad.

[an "if you say so" sigh from his end, not that Nova can tell.] Aloe is good--soothing lotion made from it can be found, if not in the bazaar, then certainly in the clinic.

[Nova is a stubborn little soul who doesn't worry much about her health in the aftermath of battles and explosions and what have you.] I'll definitely check that out. Thanks Paladin!

There's a decent shop [insert directions here]. Make sure you request what metal you want or else you'll end up with some shoddy work. I haven't seen any pauldrons, but they've got spaulders.

Poke around in the Bazaar for burn cream. If you can't find it there, Wellspring will probably have some in stock.

I'm afraid I don't know too much about armor... What sort of metal would be best? I'd need something light, because I already carry around a sword and I'm not very big. I'm not sure what my old armor was even made of... It didn't look like metal, except for the gold trim. It was sort of a beige color.

Ahaha probably a tarnished sort but he does care XD stonyfaced July 28 2010, 03:01:16 UTC
Can't go too bad with iron, I always say. Chainmail's good if you want something a bit lighter or more protection under your breastplate, but make sure that the chains are nice and tight. Won't protect you against a bullet, but it's good for near everything else, just make sure you wear something underneath that, 'cos if you get hit the metal will bruise you, if not worse. Get something custom fit if you've got the money. Armour that's too big for you will be more dangerous than none at all.

Beige? Huh. Only thing I can think of is copper, and that's... well, copper coloured.

[She takes a minute to read all of that and make notes for when she goes shopping.] I'll keep all of that in mind. In my memory, I didn't have that much armor, but I think it was magical somehow.

You should make sure that your burns stay clean and treat them with an ointment if you have it. I would recommend seeing someone at Medical about getting hold of some. If they are recent burns, then you should immerse the injury in cold water.

Try to be careful, Nova.

Yes ma'am. They're not very serious, and I'm stopping by medical on my way home. I didn't mean to worry you. I'll try to be more careful.
